User Experience - Introduction

chamomilorenn

It's almost as if I've done this before! Once or twice!

Welcome back to another series of blog posts! This time it's for BUS262/User Experience. User Experience is in somewhat of a similar vein to Interface Design, but more broad. We're covering what influences user behaviors, how they interact with specific designs and functions, how they learn how to use interfaces, and more.

As I'm reading about it, it feels like an extension of the basic concept introduced in Interface Design. The advanced level of the same course, but still different!

Plus, having other people (classmates) to discuss with is nice. We've all been the "users" in question at some point or another. Knowing what different people find annoying, value, or have other notes on helps a lot when designing. I get the feeling this will be a theme in this class!

In fact, I already have something to show you!

For this course, we're working with Figma, an online prototyping service. This project is the emotion interface, an app where you press a button to feel a specific emotion. Everyone is making their own. This is my revised example after some feedback from my classmates!

You can play with this one yourself! You can look at the current (as of writing) prototype at the link here.

The settings menu is mostly just for show. Figma is very simple and mostly just serves as a proof of concept or wireframe, so I can only do so much. Even still, I think I have something pretty nice here!

Look forward to more of the emotion interface and/or other Figma projects! Depends on where this class goes.
